QED-C Goes to the Hill

Quantum Economic Development Consortium (QED-C) Executive Director, Dr. Joe Broz (far left), participated in a quantum information science panel discussion for Congressional Staff.  Dr. Arthur Hermann (second from the left) with the Hudson Institute and head of the Quantum Alliance Initiative organized the panel, entitled “A Discussion on Quantum Information Science and Post Quantum Encryption”.  Dr. Broz outlined the purpose, objectives, and current activities of the QED-C, which has over 80 U.S. companies that are part of the quantum ecosystem as participants, including Google, IBM, Microsoft, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and others.  Other speakers, including Dr. Jake Taylor (third from right), with the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) and Interim Director of the National Quantum Coordination Office, discussed national policy, private sector research and development, workforce challenges, and the imperative to develop quantum safe cryptography today.
