SRI's offerings include standard workshops, customized programs, and individual consulting arrangements.

Our selected innovation partners in Europe—Edutech in Finland, ALMI/Innovationsbron in Sweden, and T-Systems/MMS in Germany—bring local knowledge to clients in those regions.

Available Workshops

Five Disciplines of Innovation Workshop   Two-day workshop for executives, engineers, managers, and scientists to learn, examine, and apply the SRI Five Disciplines of Innovation® processes.
Executive Five Disciplines of Innovation Workshop   One-day workshop for senior executives and administrators to learn key techniques for managing innovation.
Value Creation Workshop   One-day workshop to extend SRI's innovation principles throughout organizations. SRI's Five Disciplines of Innovation® processes are introduced; value creation tools are emphasized.
Venture Plan Essential Boot Camp   Five-day workshop for innovation teams that want to raise funds and commercialize a product or service. Teams emerge with core constructs of a venture plan.
Licensing Plan Essentials Boot Camp   Five-day workshop for innovation teams that want to license their invention or business concept. Teams emerge with core constructs of a licensing plan.
Value Creation Advisor Workshops   Variable-length workshops to provide feedback to innovation teams on venture proposals. Using SRI’s value creation methodology, teams present value propositions to Silicon Valley business experts, who offer actionable guidance that advances business concepts.

In-depth Programs

University Tech Transfer Office  Commercialization Training   Three-day highly interactive workshop for university TTO management and staff, followed by a six-month follow-up program. The program focuses on the commercialization effort (as a companion to IP management tasks) and provides tools and processes for managing it.
Business Plan Competitions  

This four- to nine-month program augments a government or regional economic development agency plan by implementing a business plan competition. It encourages innovation and identifies potential entrepreneurs. SRI can:

  • Assist with planning and marketing the competition
  • Provide training to participants
  • Assist with judging or assessing submissions
  • Provide a Silicon Valley Venture Readiness program as a prize for the selected teams
Silicon Valley Introduction Tour  

One-week customized tour of Silicon Valley for up to 20 people that includes:

  • Introduction to SRI and Silicon Valley
  • Two-day SRI Five Disciplines of Innovation workshop
  • Two days of visiting other relevant Silicon Valley organizations such as research institutions, universities, incubators, and start-ups
  • Summary of what participants learned and how they can effectively implement innovation components when they return home
Silicon Valley Venture Readiness Program  

Four-week program in Silicon Valley for three to five teams (10-20 people). Teams are screened and pre-selected to ensure that they can benefit from this program, which includes:

  • One week of intensive workshop training from SRI
  • Three weeks for team to do market research and network with people in Silicon Valley, and iterate or develop their business plan or concept.

SRI assigns experienced Silicon Valley entrepreneurs as mentors and coaches. Teams may also have the opportunity to present their ideas to a panel of experienced venture capitalists for feedback on their presentations and how they can prepare for fundraising.
