Education Researcher, SRI Education

Carolina Zamora brings project management and collaboration skills, as well as background and knowledge of early childhood and education to her work at SRI. Zamora works on research and technical assistance projects focusing on early childhood and student behavior. She currently provides technical assistance (TA) for the National Technical Assistance Center for Preschool Development Grants Birth Through Five (PDG B-5 TA), which supports states in building high-quality mixed delivery systems of services and programs for young children and their families. Within the Center for IDEA Early Childhood Data Systems (DaSy) Zamora also co-designs evaluation instruments, coordinates their implementation, and maintains the database of response results. In addition, she organizes the design of an interactive data dashboard for administrators and supports data collection for the Arkansas’ Implementation of Suspension and Expulsion Reduction Policies (ARISE). ARISE is a research partnership with the Arkansas Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education that aims to support the implementation of suspension and expulsion reduction policies.

Prior to SRI, Zamora spent 8 years in various educational environments, including serving as a preschool teacher, teaching artist, and museum educator/coordinator at the Guggenheim Museum. These diverse contexts and experiences inform her current work at SRI to use flexible methods and consider multiple perspectives in her research and TA.

Zamora holds an MEd in arts in education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a BFA in sculpture from Pratt Institute.
