Hannah Kumbroch

Education Research Assistant, SRI Education

Hannah Kumbroch’s research interests include equity in early childhood education and the liberatory potential of play-based learning. She has a background in conducting fieldwork and research in multilingual learning and early literacy.

As a research assistant in SRI’s Center for Education Research and Innovation (CERI), Kumbroch supports a variety of research, technical assistance and dissemination projects. For example, she supports the Leveraging Evidence to Accelerate Recovery Nationwide (LEARN) Network, funded by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES), which focuses on increasing the use of evidence-based practices to accelerate student learning. Kumbroch also contributes to several projects with the IES-funded Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Appalachia, which partners with educators and policymakers to improve learner outcomes. Kumbroch earned her BA in cognitive science and film and media from the University of California, Berkeley.
