Principal Senior Early Childhood TA Specialist and Researcher, SRI Education
Jennifer Tschantz, PhD, has 30 years of experience supporting the implementation of evidence-based policies and practices that improve programs and outcomes for young children from birth to age 5 and their families. She has held key early childhood positions in the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. A former preschool special education teacher, Tschantz is passionate about high-quality, inclusive learning environments, particularly for young children with social, emotional and behavioral challenges.
Throughout her career, Tschantz has emphasized the importance of collaboration across early childhood programs and initiatives so all young children and their families have access to high-quality comprehensive programs and services. She has worked at both the state and federal levels on efforts to coordinate services and data across early childhood programs and agencies. She has also led efforts to ensure that assessments of young children are developmentally appropriate and that assessment data are appropriately used to inform practice and program improvement.
Tschantz earned a doctorate in early childhood special education from the University of Maryland and holds a master’s degree in early childhood special education from the University of Georgia.
