William Kevin Ham

Program Manager, Center for Information Management and Cybersecurity

William Kevin Ham is a program manager in the Center for Information Management and Cybersecurity at SRI International. Based in SRI’s Washington, D.C. facility, Ham has more than 20 years of engineering and IT management experience. At SRI, his program management activities include direction of research laboratory facilities, large military and intelligence programs, telecommunications facilities, and software development.

Ham is currently performing as a program manager for key intelligence and analytics projects. Recently, he completed a large IT modernization effort in support of critical U.S. intelligence missions for a private client. This program involved multiple contractors, capture and definition of dynamic requirements that evolved with world events, architecture and system design, and support to integration of multiple critical capabilities for the client’s enterprise.

Prior to joining SRI in 2006, Ham served in the U.S. Navy from 1995 to 2006, spanning a diverse set of engineering and management roles. These included program manager for the Multi-Intelligence System Segment for the Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS); director of the Naval Research Laboratory’s Midway Research Center; networks officer and Base Communications Department Head at the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station in Naples, Italy; director of the Space Operations Division at Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) Space Field Activity; and satellite engineering department head at the Naval Satellite Operations Center, Point Mugu, CA.

Ham has an MS in astronautical engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School and a BS in physics from Texas Tech University. His research interests include digital communication and modulation techniques, application of Bayesian inference and machine learning techniques, signals and entities of interest in large data, and application of stochastic processes.
