A statement from SRI Education

Child face

SRI Education shares in the outrage and heartbreak over recent incidents of racial violence in our country. These incidents have again laid bare historic, systemic injustices against Black people and all people of color that we all must urgently work to eradicate.

As an organization and as individuals, we must listen, speak, and act to combat racial injustice. SRI Education commits to:

  • Sharing what we learn from our research and evaluation to highlight strategies for improving access, inclusion, and equity for all children and families
  • Supporting conversations to promote equity, by sharing resources with families and educators and by improving awareness of implicit bias among our leaders and staff
  • Continuing to examine and improve how we recruit, support, and retain people of color in line with our values of diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Listening and reflecting to keep getting better at doing this imperative work

SRI Education has released resources in their Student Behavior Blog on educating and speaking with children about racism.
