David Motley

Chairman of the Board, SRI. CEO and President, MCAPS, LLC

David Motley joined SRI’s Board in September 2020 and became chair of the Board of Directors in 2024.

He also currently serves on the boards of First National Bank (NYSE: FNB); Koppers (NYSE: KOP); Armada Supply Chain Solutions ($4B privately held company); ALung, Inc. (venture-backed med device company with $120M in invested capital) and Forest Devices (venture-backed start-up). Motley’s current board leadership positions include Lead Director, Nom Gov Chair, and Audit Chair.

During Motley’s 30-year corporate career, he led strategy formulation for more than 50 businesses with revenues ranging up to $2B. David’s last three corporate roles were VP and GM positions with Respironics (acquired by Philips) and Covidien (acquired by Medtronic), followed by a Senior Managing Director role with FODIS, LLC (a spin-out from EY’s acquisition of Headwaters SC).

From 2010 to present, Motley co-founded three enterprises: The BlueTree Venture Fund (www.bluetreeventurefund.com), DLM-WCM, LLC, a real estate development company, and MCAPS, LLC, a professional services company focused on Corporate Real Estate Services and IT. His private company experience includes restructuring governance models and boards for entities ranging in size from $50M to $3.5B.

In 2017, David co-founded the African American Directors Forum (AADF) which seeks to increase representation for African Americans in the board rooms, C-Suites, and supplier bases of publicly traded companies across the nation. (www.aadfpgh.org)

Motley is a Distinguished Alumnus Awardee of the University of Pittsburgh’s Swanson School of Engineering and earned his MBA from the Harvard Business School.
