Sterling McBride
Principal Research Scientist

Dr. McBride has over 17+ years’ experience leading programs and developing state-of-the-art, portable atom and cold-atom sensors and systems. Dr. McBride is a pioneer and leading expert in the design and microfabrication of low-size weight and power ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems and vapor cells in glass and silicon. Dr. McBride has led the SRI efforts in cold-atom, portable MOT/BEC channel-cells for atom interferometry; portable, integrated UHV neutral-atom systems for quantum information processing; and miniature magnet-free UHV sputter-ion pump for highly integrated quantum sensors. Dr. McBride holds more than nine US patents related to atomic sensors and systems. Dr. McBride has a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas.
