Erik Torgerson

Program Manager, Security and Survivability

Erik Torgerson focuses on design, characterization and fabrication of optical materials for signature management applications. His areas of research interest at SRI International include developing novel solutions for energy efficiency by managing the signatures of light, sound and heat.

Prior to joining SRI, Torgerson was a materials and processes engineer with Northrop Grumman Corporation supporting the development of air combat systems. He has supported and led programs that developed unique materials and technologies including polymer composites, nanostructured photonic structures, optical coatings, electrochromics, micro-optics and phosphors.

Torgerson has worked for a number of U.S. government clients such as the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency, Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy, Department of Energy. Commercial clients include Northrop Grumman, Boeing and Lockheed Martin.

Torgerson has a B.S. degree in chemistry from Harvey Mudd College.
