Education Research Communications Manager, SRI Education
Keith Heumiller is the education research communications manager for SRI Education. He is an expert at leveraging traditional and new media to tell engaging stories and communicate research, tools, products, and valuable information to contemporary audiences.
For more than 15 years, Heumiller has led successful and award-winning multichannel dissemination and engagement initiatives for a wide range of organizations, including national education research consortiums, state-level technical assistance providers, universities, colleges, and community programs.
Heumiller specializes in designing accessible and actionable communications products tailored to the unique needs of practitioners, administrators, policymakers, families, and key stakeholders. For example, in support of the federal Preschool Development Grants Birth through Five (PDG B-5) initiative, he launched and produced the “Early Childhood Policy Matters” podcast series, a popular program allowing technical assistance providers to share knowledge, best practices, and success stories among early childhood leaders across the United States.
Heumiller has also designed, created, and promoted interactive web spaces, outreach and engagement tools, podcast and video series, mini-documentaries, blogs, social media campaigns, newsletters, live events, and promotional materials for organizations including SRI, the LEARN Network, the National Technical Assistance Center for Preschool Development Grants Birth through Five, ECDataWorks, and the Consortium for Policy Research in Education (CPRE) at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.
Before joining SRI, Heumiller served as a communications consultant and multimedia project manager for national organizations and dissemination initiatives dedicated to reducing barriers between the education research, policy, and practice communities. He directed, hosted, and promoted the popular weekly podcast “Research Minutes,” an award-winning series featuring down-to-earth conversations with some of the nation’s most prominent education researchers. Heumiller also created impactful multimedia series for projects supported by the National Institute of Justice and the Heising-Simons Foundation.
Heumiller previously managed public relations for Brookdale Community College in New Jersey and reported on local school districts as a journalist for Greater Media News.
