Abstract

This technical report consists of an introductory paper and three technical papers presented at the session, “AI Application of Supercomputers: The Vision Problem,”(wherein the major problems in computer vision are outlined, and the “signals to symbols”and the “monolithic computing” (MC) approaches to these problems are described. We note that the availability of parallel computation makes the MC approach feasible) at the Fourth International Conference on Supercomputing, Santa Clara, California, April 30 to May 5, 1989.
