Introduction

In this paper we discuss a pilot study in which we investigate bridging the disciplines of social studies and mathematics to help students learn important aspects of data literacy. We view this pilot as an important step in a larger research program that investigates the learning progression, and the concomitant learning mechanisms required to increase the data literacy of our students from the early years through High School while meeting standards related to analysis of data and evidence across the disciplines.
