Program Director and Principal Scientist, Artificial Intelligence Center
Karen Myers, Ph.D., is a program director and principal scientist in SRI International's Artificial Intelligence Center, where she leads a team focused on developing intelligent systems that facilitate man-machine collaboration.
Her research interests include autonomy, multi-agent systems, automated planning and scheduling, personalization technologies, and mixed-initiative problem solving. Myers has led the development of several AI technologies that have been successfully transitioned into operational use in areas that span collaborative systems, task management, and end-user automation.
Myers has served on the Executive Council for the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) and the International Conference on Automated Planning and Scheduling (ICAPS). She was on the editorial boards for Artificial Intelligence and the Journal for AI Research and the advisory board for ACM Transactions on Intelligent Systems and Technology.
Myers has a Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University, a B.Sc. in mathematics and computer science from the University of Toronto, and a degree in piano performance from the Royal Conservatory.
