Director, Center for Innovation Strategy and Policy
Dr. Randazzese has twenty years of post-doctoral experience in science & technology (S&T) policy, economics and innovation research, and business planning and strategy. His work spans a broad range of projects for the commercial, government, and academic sectors, for clients in North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Recent projects include preparation of the research cooperation strategy for one the principal state-owned national petroleum and natural gas companies in the GCC region; developing a comprehensive innovation strategy for one of the largest metropolitan regions in the US; and writing a business plan for a government-university-industry cooperative research center for advanced medical sensors. Prior to joining SRI, Dr. Randazzese worked in strategic management consulting for sixteen years, leading and participating in numerous projects focusing primarily on sectors undergoing rapid technological change, including telecommunications, energy, media, cybersecurity, software, and financial services.
Prior to his consulting career, Dr. Randazzese served as a research fellow at Harvard University. Lucien received a doctorate degree in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Microelectronic Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and began his career as a semiconductor engineer at IBM.
