On Validating the Relationship of Ionogram Signatures to Large-Scale Wave Structure
The development of plasma structure in the nighttime equatorial F layer, known as equatorial spread F (ESF), appears to be influenced (if not controlled) by the presence of large-scale wave structure (LSWS).

Non-Linear Rewrite Closure and Weak Normalization
In this paper, we construct a rewrite closure for term rewrite systems that satisfy two properties: the right-hand side term in each rewrite rule contains no repeated variable (right-linear) and contains no variable at depth greater than one (right-shallow).

Cornerstone Mathematics: Designing Digital Technology for Teacher Adaptation and Scaling
We report the results of a design-based research project in England that embeds digital technology. We report how the features of the innovation—particularly its technological infrastructure—could be leveraged, not only to achieve positive learning outcomes, but also to lay the foundations for change in pedagogy and learning at scale.

Designing the Future of Preschool Math Learning: Can Tablets Help?
Could tablets be the key to unlocking a lifetime of deep mathematics learning for preschool children? The very question is controversial—and yet potentially very important. Math is rarely taught in preschool and when it’s taught, lessons tend to focus only on counting. However, when preschool children receive strong preparation in mathematics, the benefits—especially for children from poorer…

First National Look: Special Education Services Used by Students with Autism
Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) have unique characteristics, including difficulties with communication, social interaction and repetitive behavior. To address ASD symptoms, special education programs employ a combination of communication, social and behavioral services and life skills training to help students function most effectively. While it is now commonly accepted that such programs can make…

Novel Human Radiation Exposure Biomarker Panel Applicable for Patient Triage
A panel of only three proteins is sufficient to accurately distinguish an individual that was exposed to low-levels of ionizing radiation from an unexposed person. These findings have significant implications in terms of being able to triage individuals in the case of unanticipated nuclear or radiological events.
