Jeffrey Casper

SRI International September 8, 2021

Program Director, Instrumentation and Simulation Program

Jeffrey Casper is a program director in the Instrumentation and Simulation Program, where he leads multidisciplinary research and development efforts to advance the state of the art of mobile devices for corporate and government applications.

Since joining SRI in 1981, Casper performed infrared physics research and analyzed the effects of high-power microwaves. Starting in 1993, he worked on DARPA’s first digitization of the battlespace and became an expert on the employment of commercial technologies for specialized and military applications. Combining GPS and radio technologies, he developed instrumentation to monitor and help train soldiers, Marines, airmen, sailors, and first responders in achieving technical proficiency.

In 2008, Casper was promoted to program director. In 2010, with his coworkers in the Instrumentation and Simulation Program, he received SRI’s Presidential Achievement Award, which honors SRI staff members whose extraordinary contributions have made a positive and lasting impact on the world, SRI’s clients, and SRI.

In 2011, he helped establish SRI initiatives in secure mobility. He holds two issued patents and has several patents pending.

Casper has a B.S. in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a M.S. in physics from the University of Chicago, and a M.S. in engineering management from Santa Clara University.
