Evaluation of Mobile Messaging on Responsive Parenting

The Mobile Messaging on Responsive Caregiving study will evaluate the impact of two mobile messaging programs intended to improve responsive caregiving, attitudes, knowledge, and confidence of parents and caregivers of young children.

The Mobile Messaging on Responsive Caregiving study, funded by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and the Overdeck Family Foundation, will evaluate the impact of two mobile messaging programs intended to improve responsive caregiving, attitudes, knowledge, and confidence of parents and caregivers of young children. The study’s primary goal is to build the evidence base on the use of mobile messaging-based behavioral interventions as a support for parents of young children. Our approach will combine one experimental and one quasi-experimental study to examine the impacts of two programs (Bright By Text and Too Small To Fail /Univision) on parent outcomes. The studies will use parent surveys of engagement with messaging content and parent interviews to understand experiences with the messaging programs.
