PARC Forum: The future of education in the age of AI

SRI’s Washington, DC Campus
1100 Wilson Blvd #2700
Arlington, VA

Join SRI as we welcome Kumar Garg, president of Renaissance Philanthropy, for a discussion about the impact of science, technology, and innovation on the future of education.

“The PARC Forum events offer that rare magic where I can get a front row seat to a place where visionary thinking meets world impact.” — PARC Forum attendee

Kumar Greg is the president of Renaissance Philanthropy, former vice president of partnerships for the Schmidt Futures Foundation, and former assistant director for Learning and Innovation at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy under President Obama.

Garg will be joined on stage by SRI’s Todd Grindal, co-director of the Center for Learning & Development in SRI’s Education division and a lecturer at the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University.

Garg and Grindal will draw on their shared lifelong passion for improving educational outcomes to offer insights about the opportunities and challenges posed by AI-supported technology for education. They’ll also explore how technology innovation and education systems (districts and states) can work together to improve classroom learning and teaching.

The speakers will answer critical questions, including:

  • How does education need to change, and how can AI support these changes?
  • What should policymakers, administrators, teachers, and parents do to ensure that AI is effective, safe, and unbiased?
  • How will funding for and development of education change over the next 5-10 years?

Join us for a reception following the event for light refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.
