Dr. Gordon has 8 years of experience in applied research, analytics and data storytelling, program evaluation, quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method research. Often drawing strategic, actionable insights from unstructured, real-world data, Dr. Gordon has led large-scale research initiatives for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF). At SRI, she supports NSF’s work in disseminating information on public attitudes toward science and workforce development in STEM by evaluating and refining survey instruments, creating forums for collaborative research and information sharing, as well as contributing to and reviewing public-facing publications. As part of her work on economic development, Dr. Gordon also designs and administers online surveys for government clients. Before joining SRI, Dr. Gordon was a Senior Analyst at Anthem Innovation Studio where she led university partnerships and helped oversee a portfolio of projects addressing the social determinants of health as well as personalized medicine. She has won 10 awards for her work in public policy and research, as well as designing and implementing research programs. Dr. Gordon holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Virginia and a B.A. in Professional Writing and Editing from Youngstown State University.
