By joining forces with PARC, SRI seeks to further amplify its ability to transfer technology from the lab to the real world.

In his New York Times story about the acquisition of Xerox’s PARC by SRI, Pulitzer Prize-winning author John Markoff explores the history and potential synergies between two organizations that formed the bedrock of Silicon Valley’s innovation ecosystem.

Markoff’s story also addresses SRI’s plans for the future, including an ambitious effort to redevelop SRI’s Menlo Park property into a new research campus and residential community that can attracts fellow technology innovators and serve as a hub for world-changing innovation.

“This is our annuity for the future for investing in research,” SRI CEO David Parekh tells Markoff in the story’s conclusion.
