Abstract

This framework outlines a comprehensive plan of action to increase public awareness and mobilize support for sustained investments in Nevada’s early care and education (ECE) workforce.

In 2022, The Children’s Cabinet and the Nevada Division of Welfare and Supportive Services announced a partnership to develop a comprehensive, unifying framework to support the state’s ECE professionals and the families they serve. Collaborators from across Nevada met from November 2022 through June 2023 to help develop this framework. To address the needs of the Nevada ECE workforce, four workgroups were formed (Compensation & Financial Incentives, ECE Workforce Data, Professional Pathways, and Working Conditions & Supports) to guide strategic planning efforts and design the phased approach across five priority areas.
