Introduction

The combination of issues –from modeling to technological to institutional–posed by application domains present challenges to the artificial intelligence (AI) planning and scheduling (P&S) community. While, on the one hand real-world domains and problems become more frequent challenges for researchers, on the other hand, new applications are being developed and deployed into real-world contexts by practitioners.
