Sub-300 nm UV LEDs with defect reduction layer and vertical-injection architecture
We present UV LEDs operating at wavelengths below 300 nm.

Structure and sources of disorder in poly(3-hexylthiophene) crystals investigated by density-functional calculations with van der Waals interactions
The crystal structure of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) has been studied by first-principles calculations based on density functional theory.

Nicotinic Receptor Agonists Decrease L-Dopa-Induced Dyskinesias Most Effectively in Partially Lesioned Parkinsonian Rats
To further understand how nicotine mediates its antidyskinetic action, we investigated the effect of nicotinic receptor (nAChR) agonists in unilateral 6-OHDA-lesioned rats with varying striatal damage.

Quantifying the Breakdown of the Born-Oppenheimer Approximation in Surface Chemistry
In this paper we show that molecular-beam surface scattering experiments can be used to derive quantitative information about the magnitude of BOA breakdown.

Dynamic and High-Resolution Metabolic Imaging of Hyperpolarized [1- 13C]-Pyruvate in the Rat Brain Using a High-Performance Gradient Insert
Here a high-performance gradient insert was used in combination with undersampled spiral CSI to increase either the imaging speed or the spatial resolution of hyperpolarized 13C metabolic imaging on a clinical 3T MR scanner.

Identity in the Federal Learning Registry
The Learning Registry helps alleviate the problem of disparate standards for describing resources by changing the business model for suppliers from hand-curation of descriptive data to tapping data streams from social networks and learning management systems to locate and identify resources.

Comparison of 32 x 128 and 32 x 32 Geiger-Mode APD FPAs for Single Photon 3D LADAR Imaging
We present results obtained from 3D imaging focal plane arrays (FPAs) employing planar-geometry InGaAsP/InP Geiger-mode avalanche photodiodes (GmAPDs) with high-efficiency single photon sensitivity at 1.06 μm.

Genetic Variability of Smoking Persistence in African Americans
We undertook an association analysis by using a genotyping array that includes 2,100 genes to analyze smoking persistence in unrelated African American participants from the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities study.

The Human Epithelial Carcinoma Antigen Recognized By Monoclonal Antibody Ae3 Is Expressed on a Sulfoglycolipid in Addition to Neoplastic Mucins
We have carried out carbohydrate microarray analyses of one of the monoclonal antibodies, AE3, that has been regarded the ‘most carcinoma specific’ in respect to its ability to detect HCA in sera of patients with epithelial cancers.

Detection of Inflammatory Arthritis By Using Hyperpolarized 13 C-Pyruvate with Mr Imaging and Spectroscopy
The data presented herein suggest that the presence of inflammation may be detected at 13C-MR spectroscopy as the increased conversion of hyperpolarized 13C-pyruvate into 13C-lactate.

Web-Based Metabolic Network Visualization with a Zooming User Interface
We present a Web-based metabolic-map diagram, which can be interactively explored by the user, called the Cellular Overview. The main characteristic of this application is the zooming user interface enabling the user to focus on appropriate granularities of the network at will.
