Optical polarization characteristics of ultraviolet (In)(Al)GaN multiple quantum well light emitting diodes
The polarization of the in-plane electroluminescence of (0001) orientated (In)(Al)GaN multiple quantum well light emitting diodes in the UV-A and UV-B spectral range has been investigated.

Inkjet-patterned, organic complementary circuits and non-volatile memory arrays based on ferroelectric field-effect transistors
Organic complementary circuits are demonstrated for integration with mechanical sensors to enable the fabrication of a sensor tape to detect mechanical impacts correlated to traumatic brain injury.

Electrical and environmental stability of organic transistors
The formation of gap states and the influence of oxygen and moisture on the formation process were studied by electrical in-situ measurements of polycrystalline pentacene thin film transistors (TFTs).

Microspring contacts for integrated test and packaging
We are developing microsprings to address key next generation packaging needs.

Can magnetic field sensors replace gyroscopes in wearable sensing applications?
We investigate if and how magnetic sensors can be used to replace gyroscopes in wearable activity recognition.

Authentication in the clouds: a framework and its application to mobile users
We describe a framework for supporting authentication decisions based on a flexible authentication framework we call TrustCube (to manage the authentication infrastructure) and on a behavioral authentication approach referred to as Implicit Authentication (to translate user behavior into authentication scores.)

Eddi: Interactive topic-based browsing of social status streams
We present an approach to organizing a user’s own feed into coherently clustered trending topics for more directed exploration.

Determination of Physical and Radiant Meteor Properties Using PFISR Interferometry Measurements of Head Echoes
We have developed a methodology which takes advantage of the multi-receiving capabilities of the 450 MHz Poker Flat Incoherent Scatter Radar (PFISR) enabling us to utilize the phased array of crossed-dipoles as an interferometer.

Near Real-Time Assimilation in IRI of Auroral Peak E-Region Density and Equatorward Boundary
The paper describes the method and initial results of assimilating the auroral peak E-region density (NmE) and the auroral EB into the International Reference Ionosphere (IRI).

Supporting Generative Thinking About the Integer Number Line in Elementary Mathematics
This report provides evidence of the influence of a tutorial “communication game” on fifth graders’ generative understanding of the integer number line. Analyses of micro-constructions during play revealed properties of student learning trajectories.

Influence of an Inertia-Gravity Waveon Mesospheric Dynamics: a Case Study with the Poker Flat Incoherent Scatter Radar
A case study of mesospheric winds and waves observed by the Poker Flat Incoherent Scatter Radar (PFISR) on 23 April 2008 is presented.
