Making CAPTCHAs clickable
We show how to convert regular keyboard-entry CAPTCHAs into clickable CAPTCHAs.
-
Flexible and printed electronics for displays and image sensors
At PARC we are developing various technologies to advance the field of flexible electronics and to offer prototyping and research services in this area.
-
Distributed time-optimal scheduling for convergecast in wireless sensor networks
We consider applications of sensor networks wherein data packets generated by every node have to reach the base station.

Complex Systems And Educational Change: Towards A New Research Agenda
In this article we begin to define possible agendas for research toward developing systematic frameworks and shared terminology for such a project.

Genes Implicated in Serotonergic and Dopaminergic Functioning Predict BMI Categories
This study addressed the hypothesis that variation in genes associated with dopamine function, serotonin function (SLC6A4, and regulation of monoamine levels (MAOA) may be predictive of BMI categories in young adulthood and of changes in BMI as adolescents transition into young adulthood.

Risking Communications Security: Potential Hazards of the Protect America Act
A new US law allows warrantless wiretapping whenever one end of the communication is believed to be outside national borders. This creates serious security risks: danger of exploitation of the system by unauthorized users, danger of criminal misuse by trusted insiders, and danger of misuse by government agents.

Role of Nucleation on the Growth of Nanocrystalline Diamond (NCD) Films: a Particular Study in the Fabrication of Micro-Cantilevers
It was observed that the films grown after pre-treating the substrates in pure nanodiamond slurry have not provided a complete coverage at the anchor regions of the cantilevers due to the lower nucleation density.

Mosaicing of Single Plane Illumination Microscopy Images Using Groupwise Registration and Fast Content-Based Image Fusion
We propose here an image mosaicing algorithm that combines state of the art groupwise image registration for alignment with content-based image fusion to prevent degrading of the fused image due to regional blurring of the input images.

Roles of Insulin and Transferrin in Neural Progenitor Survival and Proliferation
In the current study, we examined the requirements for NSC proliferation and survival in vitro using the neurosphere culture system.

Evaluation of Matrix Metalloproteinases in Atherosclerosis Using a Novel Noninvasive Imaging Approach
This study evaluated the ability of the novel gadolinium-based MRI contrast agent P947 to target MMPs in atherosclerotic plaques.

Moisture Induced Electron Traps and Hysteresis in Pentacene-Based Organic Thin-Film Transistors
Previous work revealed that electron traps in pentacene formed in air cause hysteresis in thin-film transistor characteristics. Here, we experimentally showed that water vapor, rather than oxygen, is responsible for these hysteresis-causing trap states.
