In celebration of SRI’s history of innovation:
Two new IEEE Milestones to be unveiled
Friday, November 13 | 9:30–11:30 AM PT
@ the Computer History Museum
Join us for a special morning celebrating technology history.
SRI will be honored with two new IEEE Milestones — designations that recognize technical achievements of lasting historical significance. We can’t reveal what they are just yet. But we can tell you this: the room will be filled with some of the people who made these innovations real.
What to expect:
- Doors open at 9:30 am; coffee and light fare will be served
- Welcome and opening remarks from David Parekh, CEO of SRI
- The unveiling of two IEEE Milestones to be awarded to SRI
- Remarks from the President of IEEE, Tom Coughlin, 2024 IEEE President
- A history of the IEEE Milestone Program from Brian Berg, head of the program
- A moderated panel featuring some of the people who were in the room where it happened, led by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author John Markoff
This is a rare chance to hear directly from the people who shaped these breakthroughs — and to be there when their contributions are formally written into the historical record.
