Ubiquitin Accumulation in Autophagy-Deficient Mice Is Dependent on the Nrf2-Mediated Stress Response Pathway: a Potential Role for Protein Aggregation in Autophagic Substrate Selection
We show that tissue-specific disruption of the essential autophagy genes Atg5 and Atg7 leads to the accumulation of all detectable Ub–Ub topologies, arguing against the hypothesis that any particular Ub linkage serves as a specific autophagy signal.

EcoCyc: a Comprehensive Database of Escherichia Coli Biology
Recent improvements to the EcoCyc Web interface include combined gene/protein pages and a Regulation Summary Diagram displaying a graphical overview of all known regulatory inputs to gene expression and protein activity.

The Rational Design of a Novel Potent Analogue of the 5′-AMP-Activated Protein Kinase Inhibitor Compound C with Improved Selectivity and Cellular Activity
We have designed and synthesized analogues of compound C, a non-specific inhibitor of 5′-AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), using a computational fragment-based drug design (FBDD) approach.

Discovery of the FeO orange bands in the terrestrial night airglow spectrum obtained with OSIRIS on the Odin spacecraft
An unidentified pseudo-continuum in the 600 nm region is observed in the upper mesosphere with the limb-scanning OSIRIS imaging spectrograph on-board the Odin spacecraft.
