Online planning for a material control system for liquid crystal display manufacturing
The hyper-modular printer control project at PARC has proven that a tightly integrated model-based planning and control framework can effectively control a complex physical system.

Dynamic state-space partitioning in external-memory graph search
We introduce a method for dynamic partitioning and show that it leads to improved search performance in solving STRIPS planning problems.

RetroTime: retrospectively visualizing and labeling time intervals
This paper describes the user experience using RetroTime, and describes how it could be extended to support more complex labeling tasks, particularly in multi-person environments.

Fiftieth Anniversary of the First Incoherent Scatter Radar Experiment
At a Cornell University (Ithaca, N.Y.) departmental seminar in the spring of 1958, William Gordon showed that a powerful radar system could detect the uncorrelated and extremely weak scattered signals from individual ionospheric electrons.

Iron-Ion Radiation Accelerates Atherosclerosis in Apolipoprotein E-Deficient Mice
Recently, concern over whether exposure to cosmic radiation might pose a similar risk for astronauts has increased. To address this question, we examined the effect of 2 to 5 Gy iron ions (56Fe), a particularly damaging component of cosmic radiation, targeted to specific arterial sites in male apolipoprotein E-deficient (apoE−/−) mice.

Policy-Based Integration of Provenance Metadata
We use an architecture where aggregation, fusion, and composition policies define how provenance records can be automatically merged to facilitate the analysis and reproducibility of experiments.

The System of Rice Intensification as a Sustainable Agricultural Innovation: Introducing, Adapting and Scaling Up a System of Rice Intensification Practices in the Timbuktu Region of Mali
The system of rice intensification (SRI) originated in Madagascar in the early 1980s and has spread today to 40 countries worldwide. SRI increases rice yields significantly while reducing requirements of seeds, water and chemical inputs.

Multi-Instrument Observations of Soft Electron Precipitation and Its Association with Magnetospheric Flows
We present a multi-instrument study on the variations of optical auroras and ionospheric electron densities during an interval of a series of fast earthward flows in the magnetotail on 3 March 2009.
