Activity-based advertising: auctioning advertising in context
This paper describes the opportunity for performing highly targeted activity-based advertising.
-
Social information foraging and sensemaking
The time is ripe for a new paradigm of research on social information foraging and sensemaking to be coupled with the development of theoretically motivated systems.
-
Social indexing
This paper identifies three challenge problems for sensemaking: focusing on information in three tiers: core interests, information frontiers, and new subject areas.
-
Tracing the microstructure of sensemaking
We present low-level, empirically driven analyses of actual sensemaking behavior in both junior and senior intelligence analysts, offering insights from such low-level analyses and comparisons.

Compact, microfluidic-based detection platform for on-the-flow analyte characterization
This talk will give a brief overview on these technologies and will than focus on our work on on-the-flow pathogen detection based on native fluorescence spectroscopy.

Electric Power from Artificial Muscles
In this work, as a novel process for use of renewable energy, the authors would like to discuss the possibility of an artificial muscle actuator based on a dielectric electroactive polymer (elastomer).

Low-Lying Electronic States and Dissociation Energies of the Monochlorides of Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, and Ni
Published equilibrium data involving the gaseous monochlorides of Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, and Ni have been re-examined by thermochemical analysis, using more recent information on the low-lying electronic states, yielding D°0 values in kcal mol-1 of CrCl (90.0), MnCl (79.8), FeCl (79.3), CoCl (81.3), and NiCl (88.1).

Autonomous Biconnected Networks of Mobile Robots
We approach the subproblem of moving from a connected network of robots to achieving biconnectivity. Biconnectivity provides both robustness to change in links and better bandwidth for communication by providing multiple paths to the destination.

Study on Core Free Rolled Actuator Based on Soft Dielectric EAP
In this study a new rolled actuator design is presented based on the IPN post treated VHB material. Due to the stress free state of the wrapped film no spring core is necessary.

Studying New Forms of Participation and Identity in Mathematics Classrooms with Integrated Communication and Representational Infrastructures
We describe a method for studying the impacts of combining wireless networks with dynamic, representationally-rich mathematics software, particularly on participation, expression and projection of identity from a local to a public, shared workspace.
