Large modulation of carrier transport by grain-boundary molecular packing and microstructure in organic thin films
Here we engineer the molecular grain-boundary structure of a high-performance n-type semiconductor (PDI8-CN2) to study its effect on transport.

Degradation mechanisms of organic ferroelectric field-effect transistors used non-volatile memory
A method to calibrate and extract the input switching voltage is presented, and this calibration accounts for polarization loss with time and allows the ferroelectric transistors to be used as analog memories.

Microspring characterization and flip chip assembly reliability (Best Paper Award)
We describe new spring contacts which simultaneously achieve low resistance (30 micron) in dense two-dimensional arrays (180 x 180 micron pitch).

Extending the supply of alcohol fuels for energy security and carbon reduction
The paper critiques proposals for de-carbonizing transport and offers a potential solution which may be attained by the gradual evolution of the current fleet of predominantly low-cost vehicles via the development of carbon-neutral liquid fuels.

Advances in calorimetry for drug discovery
This presentation looks at the advances in the miniaturization of calorimeters and how the increased throughput and reduced sample consumption of these devices could expand the application of calorimetry in drug discovery.

Thermochemistry of Gaseous Ammonium Nitrate, NH4NO3(g)
From the measured molecular weight of vapor over NH4NO3(c) by the simultaneous torsion-effusion/mass loss method, the partial pressure of NH4NO3(g) was evaluated over the range 321−360 K; in addition, the presence of the gaseous nitrate was verified by effusion-beam mass spectrometry.

Double Dissociation Between Action-Driven and Perception-Driven Conflict Resolution Invoking Anterior Versus Posterior Brain Systems
We manipulated perceptual information that either matched or did not match the relevant color feature of an upcoming Stroop stimulus and recorded hemodynamic brain responses to these events.

Scenario-Based Learning Assessment Reflection Toolkit
SRI developed these evidence-centered assessment reflection tools (EC-AR) that help educators to broaden learning objectives to shift from content topics to student competencies.

A Genome-Wide Association Study of Lung Cancer Identifies a Region of Chromosome 5P15 Associated with Risk for Adenocarcinoma
We conducted a GWAS of lung cancer and its major histologic types, genotyping 515,922 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in 5739 lung cancer cases and 5848 controls from one population-based case-control study and three cohort studies.

In Vivo Glutamate Decline Associated with Kainic Acid-Induced Status Epilepticus
Here, we present data using in vivo magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) optimized for the detection of glutamate to identify changes that evolve following kainic acid (KA)-induced status epilepticus.

Alpha-Synuclein-Glucocerebrosidase Interactions in Pharmacological Gaucher Models: a Biological Link Between Gaucher Disease and Parkinsonism
The aim of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between alpha-synuclein (α-syn), a key protein in Parkinson’s disease pathogenesis, and abnormalities in glucocerebroside (GC) catabolism that lead to the development of Gaucher disease.
